Award-winning dancehall musician, Livingstone Etse Satekla, better known on stage as Stonebwoy has disclosed the profession he always dreamt of doing before his music career.
While celebrating Independence day, Stonebwoy penned down a long message acknowledging our forefathers who laid down their lives to save mother Ghana.
In the post, the dancehall giant revealed that his dream as a kid was to defend his country by joining the military or joining the football team to play for the Flag.
Though these dreams never came to pass, his profession as a musician has given him the same opportunity to accomplish all he dreamt of.
He wrote;
Growing Up as A Boy..I Just So Wanted To Do Something For My Country, I Drew The Inspiration To Do So From The History, We Learnt At School in Social Studios About Great Men And Women Who Laid Their Lives Down For This Great Nation And Others Who Died in The Process. I Couldn’t Become A Soldier To Wear The Uniform And Take An Oath To Defend Her Like I’ve Always Dreamt To . Neither A Footballer To Sing The Anthem And Play For The Flag Cuz I Could Kick Some Balls For Real, Both On And Off The Pitch lol. Here I Am Today A Messenger Singing Words, Moving The Nations Feet With Sounds, And Touching Her Soul With Melodies that Echo To The World That We Are A Great Nation Of Africa..Sometimes it Good, Many Times it No Good But All The Time I Know Say It Go Better.. Make We Just PUTUU! Happy Independence Day. God Bless Our Homeland GHANA #iAmABlackStar
